I have a question for you.
Is your fear of making mistakes preventing you from improving your English?
Is your objective for learning English to be able to reproduce grammar perfectly, or to communicate?
Would you prefer to speak without making mistakes, or understand and be understood?
Isn´t it true that the reason we need to use language is to communicate?
OK, so that was 4 questions, sorry. But I ask them because we come across one problem over and over again when we are teaching - the fear of making mistakes. English language learners are often afraid of speaking because they are embarrassed by the mistakes they make. But the problem is that unless you practice (and practice and practice!), you will never stop making these mistakes.
I understand though. As a language learner, I make a LOT of mistakes when I am speaking. Stupid mistakes that I know are wrong. And this has made me timider in Spanish than I am in English. But I push through the embarrassment because 1. I have no choice (I live in Spain!) and 2. I don't want fear to stop me from communicating.
I once read a quote - Do one thing every day that scares you. This is also true of learning a language. If you need to or want to improve your English skills, you need to get out of your comfort zone. Find ways to improve your English to give you more confidence, and to communicate in English.
So, what have you done recently that was not easy for you? That took you out of your comfort zone? Didn´t you feel good afterward? Like you achieved something?
Remember that learning a language is a process, and you can achieve your objectives by taking little steps often.
Good luck with your English language journey!
